Q: Can I use natural stone tile in the shower?

A: Yes, Natural Stone is fine to use in showers, tubs and jacuzzi . We also use natural stone in exterior applications around swimming pools and on decks. Stone is also used inside pools, but because of alkaline build, there is more maintenance involved.

Q: Does natural stone make for cold floors?

A: While stone holds room temperature very well, there are also plenty of inexpensive in-floor heating solutions that will make any stone floor even more warm and inviting. We can help you find a reliable, trustworthy contractor who can offer a customized solution for your home or business.

Q: Can I use natural stone outdoors?

A: Some highly polished natural stone tiles are suitable for outdoor use. In temperate climates where the stone is not directly exposed to freezing water or snow, it can make for dramatic outdoor sitting areas, patios or pool areas. In climates where snow and freezing rain are common, you’ll have no trouble using most natural stones on three-season patios, or areas protected from harsh elements. A: Natural stone will not burn, but is porous. Once material is installed, it is very important to seal the material correctly. The sealer will protect the material from staining. Once material is sealed, there is almost no maintenance whatsoever.

A: Granite is the hardest and least porous natural stone. Generally speaking this is the product you want to use. As the market taste change, we are seeing a lot of marble, travertine and limestone being used to achieve a more European feel. While the look is very appealing, there will definitely be more maintenance.

Q: What is the best size for me to use for my showers and floors?

A: Generally for floors when using a neutral tone, bigger is better. There are less grout joints so areas seem bigger. Dark colors are better to use in smaller sizes. Showers are a little more versatile and we use a lot of sizes and shapes to make them more especially appealing.

Q: Should I use shiny material or honed material?
